Plasma, a unique state of matter similar to a gas comprised of charged ions and electrons. Highly responsive to electromagnetic fields and electrically conductive plasma is a strangely amorphous “animal”.

Plasma can be powerful and destructive; as when used as an industrial cutting torch (plasma cutter), yet delicate and beautiful as when captured in this image of a plasma ball lamp. Plasma also exists in nature as a constituent of the sun, stars and lightning.
